By todd - Posted on 07 February 2007

Just came across this list by Liz Pulliam Weston of the 10 things you should never buy used.
The list is below, but you should see her write-up for more details:

  1. Laptops - Prone to damage, commonly dropped
  2. Car seats - Damaged car seats are common and may not protect your child
  3. Plasma TVs - Common problems call for having an extended warranty
  4. DVD Players - Lasers wear out and are costly to replace
  5. Vacuum cleaners - New models are under $100; repairs may be costly
  6. Camcorders - Motors wear, damage from dropping may not be visible
  7. Shoes - People wear shoes differently
  8. Mattresses - Bacteria, body fluids, enough said
  9. Wet suits - Lose warmth over time
  10. Helmets - Invisible damage is common

When I read number 8 - Mattresses I immediately thought about staying at motels/hotels. Imagine all of the bodies and fluids that have slept on these beds.

Makes your think!
