"Just a Couple of Days" author is back with "Nine Kinds of Naked"
Many of you who know me well know that I consider Just a Couple of Days among my very favorite books. I can read this over and over again and pick up new clever expressions, amazing language construction, new vocabulary that I wish was part of my repertoire, laugh my chops off again, and marvel at the skills and patience of an author, Tony Vigorito, that is capable of carefully selecting each and every word of his novel with complete intention and forethought.
My only complaint about Vigorito is that he has been recently silent (other than his blog on MySpace).
That is until yesterday. According to Amazon.com, Vigorito's latest book, Nine Kinds of Naked is in stock! Since I had pre-ordered it months ago, my copy shipped yesterday. I can't wait to get my hungry paws on this new bit of literary genius. You can read excerpts and reviews of both of his books at tonyvigorito.com.
Stay tuned for a detailed review coming soon.
Stewart on the coverage of Palin -- definitely worth watching
Is the way the are treating Sarah Palin sexist? Should teen pregnancy be a personal and private issue? Who is to blame? Is a Governor and former mayor of a small town qualified for the vice presidency? Watch and see:
The future of health care
In his movie, SiCKO, Michael Moore exposes the inadequacies of the US health care system Globalization. Outsourcing. Micro-economics defeating macro-economics. And now health care? In his movie, SiCKO, Michael Moore exposes the inadequacies of the US health care system and calls for universal health care. At least, he argues, US citizens deserve health care as good as what is provided to detainees at Guantanimo Bay!
If you're sick of our health care system, or lack of one, get your free SiCKO health care card.
Is this the future of our health care system here in the US?

Doctor Worm music video!
Once I finished my Ph.D., my children and my middle school students dubbed me "Doctor Worm" after the excellent song by They Might Be Giants. I just found the actual music video for the song, which you can watch below. Enjoy!
An alterative version popped up on YouTube, which is pretty awesome, too.

CLC Student Flash Movies
Two years ago, when I was teaching Flash to some Middle School students, I published their movies here. Enjoy. Or as one of my students wrote, "injoy".
It's a shame that the previous year's work is not included. There were some very talented flash designers!
Creationist museum built on fossils
The new Creationist Museum, it turns out, was actually built on famous layers of fossil-rich limestone and shale. Those fossils provide clear evidence of evolution the age of the Earth. Hmmmmm . . . is that ironic enough for you?
Here's a video discussing this irony:
Fox News causes global warming!
That's right. Fox news is helping to cause global warming by continuing to blow hot air!
Fox news is helping to cause global warming by continuing to blow hot air! Alright, so I am trying to sound funny, but the truth is that we need to act now to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Why aren't we? One main reason is doubt. Why do so many doubt that global warming is a real issue that needs immediate action? They are having hot air blown in their faces by every news program they watch -- all owned by Rupert Murdoch, who is promoting the lie that global warming is a hoax.
