CLC Student Flash Movies
Two years ago, when I was teaching Flash to some Middle School students, I published their movies here. Enjoy. Or as one of my students wrote, "injoy".
It's a shame that the previous year's work is not included. There were some very talented flash designers!
Ong-Bak Chase Scene
This may be the best chase scene everI recently posted a chase scene from "District 13", a French movie, saying that it was one of the better chase scenes. But, it doesn't compare to this scene from the Thai film "Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior". This may be the best chase scene ever, and is a great movie, too.
Amazing chase scene
It is certainly one of the better chase scenes ever made.I love a good foreign film, especially one that encorporates good martial arts, good values, good virtues, and a good story line. Below is a scene from a French film "Banlieue 13" or "District 13" from 2004.
The film is "set in the ghettos of Paris in 2010, an undercover cop and ex-thug try to infiltrate a gang in order to defuse a neutron bomb."
The clip below shows a chase scene from the first few minutes of the movie. It is certainly one of the better chase scenes ever made.
Why our perception of beauty is distorted
In teaching my Middle School Computer Graphics course, one of the topics I like to discuss is how the media use photo manipulation to change how people look, and in doing so, change our perceptions of how people should look.
I show various before and after images of women being transformed from plain to perfect using photoshop.
I hope that teaching these students not to trust what they see in the media, they will learn more self-esteem and more respect for natural beauty.
Along those lines, the video below highlights just how far companies go to turn a plain looking woman into their model of beauty.
I look forward to your comments below!
Colbert explains climate change
Stephen Colbert explains the science behind global warming and behing Al Gore's movie, An Inconvinent Truth in his own documentary, The Convinientest Truth. Enjoy.
Senate committee launches taxpayer-funded misinformation campaign about Gore's movie
Yesterday, the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works released a press statement, “AP Incorrectly Claims Scientists Praise Gore’s Movie,” but the statement lacks the scientific backing to substantiate the claims of its title.
The Associated Press contacted 100 climate scientists, including some well known "climate skeptics". Of the 19 that had seen the movie, all commended its scientific accuracy. Read my response below.
